Travel day - Return to Stockholm

After a hearty breakfast at the Carlstens Fortress I set out on the journey back to Stockholm retracing almost the same steps as getting here with one exception. Instead of a long bus ride back to Gothenburg I took a shorter bus ride to Ytterby station and a one stop train ride to Gothenburg Central Station.

One last ferry ride and a parting photo of the Carlstens Fortress majestically sitting on the top of the hill as seen from the bus stop.

The 3 hour high speed train back to Stockholm and again it did not disappoint. I love riding the trains! The only hiccup was the subway ride back to the station near my hotel. The day being Saturday afternoon after the close of schools for the summer and the subway was packed. The Stockholm marathon also contributed to the congestion. A bit of a struggle with luggage.

The hotel clerk smiled a warm smile as she presented me with the key to my room, the same one I occupied during my prior stay. I had mentioned when I left for Marstrand how I liked it being on the quiet end of the hotel.

I shopped at Lidl for snacks and spent a nice quiet evening relaxing in my hotel room after a long travel day. I took the opportunity to leave a voice mail message for Cia Härd Af Segerstad-Hajllöf to see if she would like to meet for coffee.
